
CHICAGO (WLS) -- An 18-year-old driver is in custody after crashing a stolen car into a South Side Maxwell Street Grill early Friday morning.
The man crashed a black Mazda sedan into the restaurant just before 3:45 a.m. in the 7900-block of South Chicago Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The man was injured and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he remains stable, police said.
The vehicle appeared to have also taken out a light pole. It rolled onto its side and damaged the building in the crash, video shows.

The sign says the restaurant is open 24 hours, but it's not clear if anyone was inside at the time.
No one else was hurt.
The man is in custody, and charges are pending, police said.
No. 79 CTA buses were temporarily rerouted in both directions after the crash.
