Man killed in Chatham crash, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man died after crashing into a median on Sunday in the Chatham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The crash happened in the 8700 block of S. Lafayette Avenue near the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to CPD.

Police responded to reports of a crash at about 3:39 a.m.

It appeared that the driver of a black pickup truck crashed into a median, police said.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, was taken to the University of Chicago hospital with injuries where he died, police said.

No other injuries were reported.

It was unknown if other vehicles were involved in the crash.
