Chicago NYE celebration is 'attractive target' for foreign and domestic extremists: officials

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new report looks at potential security threats to Chicago's New Year's Eve fireworks celebration at Navy Pier.

Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies released the joint threat assessment on Tuesday.

They say Chicago's celebration is an attractive target for both foreign terrorists and domestic extremists.

They are concerned about tactics including vehicle ramming and the use of drones. But they say there is no specific threat.
