John Jordan, Chicago businessman, gives $75M to Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WLS) -- A Chicago businessman is making the largest single donation to Notre Dame University in the school's history.

John Jordan is giving the school $75 million to create a new research program in science and technology. Jordan graduated from Notre Dame in 1969 and is founder of Jordan Industries, a private investment firm.

He has already given the university a total of $75 million in previous donations.
