OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) -- An Oak Lawn restaurant owner says he thought his manager was joking, when she said someone had broken into the business.
She wasn't kidding.
Surveillance video shows the break-in at Hashtag 95, on 95th Street.
Police say four people broke into the restaurant Thursday, damaging the poker machines and making off with the cash.
Owner Nick Perakis says the machines had been emptied just the day before; so, they did not get much cash.
"It's more the aggravation, the eyesore that my restaurant kind of looks like: abandoned, boarded up and can affect business that way," Perakis said.
He also shared that police told him there have been similar burglaries in the area, with the thieves focusing on gaming machines.
A Crestwood gaming parlor was broken into last week, as well.
