Indiana residents can apply for FEMA assistance following storm damage, power outages
NIPSCO looking to raise rates; Wednesday storm threat downgraded for NW Indiana, south suburbs Wednesday
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A chance for storms for parts of the Chicago area Wednesday has now been downgraded, ABC7 meteorologists said.
Meanwhile, Indiana residents can now apply for federal aid following severe weather two weeks ago.

There was a new isolated storm threat mainly for northern Indiana and far southern parts of the Chicago area Wednesday , but a cold front moving through has diminished chances for severe weather.
There is still a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms across the area Wednesday evening, but without the Level 1 and 2 risks that were previously reported.
The Storm Prediction Center previously had the city under a Level 1 risk for storms Wednesday evening, with northwest Indiana and southern parts of the Chicago area, including Kankakee County, being under a Level 2 risk for severe storms.
Northwest Indiana continues to recover from devastating storms earlier this month.
Residents can now text IN211HELP to 898-211 to get disaster recovery resources.
They can also apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance.
Those with insurance should file claims before applying.

As people continue to deal with the fallout, NIPSCO is looking to raise rates.
The company filed it's first petition on the same day the derecho hit northwest Indiana. It then filed two more in the following days according to documents from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
If those increases went through, it would add up to $7.33 to residents' bills each month.
