CHICAGO (WLS) -- CTA Red Line service has been restored after it was temporarily suspended on Chicago's South Side for a small fire.
Trains had been standing at Garfield due to the activity, but service has since resumed, CTA officials said.
Chicago fire officials responded just after 11 a.m. for a report of a train on fire.
When they arrived, they found a small fire and smoke coming from the brakes of a train, CFD said.
Fire crews were able to put the fire out, and no one was injured.

Service had been suspended between 95th and Roosevelt, the CTA said. Trains were only operating between Howard and Roosevelt during the disruption.
Shuttle buses had been requested between Roosevelt and 95th.
