At least seven teenagers were shot, one fatally, Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning across the city of Chicago, police said.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 16-year-old boy has died more than a week after three teenagers were shot on the city's West Side, officials said.

The shooting happened Aug. 18 around 9:29 p.m. in the 200 block of South Central Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Police said the victims were standing outside when a dark-colored sedan drove past and someone inside fired shots, hitting them.

An 18-year-old man was shot and transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said. A 16-year-old boy was shot multiple times and transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. A third victim, a 16-year-old boy, was found at the scene with a graze wound to the arm and declined treatment.

On Saturday, more than a week after the shooting, the Cook County Medical Examiner said a 16-year-old boy died from gunshot wounds sustained in the shooting. He was identified as Cortez hall, 16, of Chicago.

A total of at least seven teenagers were shot that same evening and into the early morning in separate shootings across the city, police said.

A teen boy was killed in one of the shootings in the Little Village neighborhood. The shooting took place at about 11:11 p.m. in the 2600-block of South Hamlin Avenue.

A separate shooting in the South Deering neighborhood left a 16-year-old girl wounded, police said. The shooting took place at about 12:37 a.m. in the 10600-block of South Bensley Avenue.

A shooting on the Far South Side left a 17-year-old boy in serious condition, police said. The shooting took place at about 10:16 p.m. in the 13200-block of South St. Lawrence Avenue.

A 16-year-old boy was also wounded in a shooting in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said. The shooting took place at about 8:23 p.m. in the 11700-block of South Normal Avenue.

No further information about the triple shooting on South Central Avenue in South Austin was immediately available.

Chicago police continue to investigate.
