Pedestrian injured after being hit by vehicle in north suburbs: Police

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (WLS) -- A 70-year-old Rolling Meadows man died, after a car hit him Wednesday morning in the north suburbs, police said Thursday.

William Capozzielli was treated at a local hospital, but died from his injuries, according to police.

Capozzielli was seriously injured in the crash on Algonquin Road near Meadowbrook Industrial Court, police said Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the roadway, police said.

The driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with police.

Algonquin Road was closed for hours during an investigation Wednesday.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about 11:30 a.m., and a red sedan could be seen.

Officials said Thursday the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
