There was an Itasca crash. A semi truck rolled over, spilling concrete bricks on I-290 at Thorndale, Illinois State Police say.

ITASCA, Ill. (WLS) -- Illinois State Police troopers are on the scene after a semi rolled over, spilling its load of concrete bricks Monday on westbound Interstate 290 in the north suburbs.

The crash took place at Thorndale in Itasca around 11:15 a.m., state police said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about noon.

The truck was crashed over the median. Several other vehicles appeared to be damaged.

At least one person was taken to a local hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.

Four eastbound and three westbound lanes of I-290 and the eastbound ramp from Route 390 to I290 are closed for the crash investigation.

It's not immediately clear what led to the crash.

Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes.
