ROCKFORD, Ill. (WLS) -- A potential strike is looming for Rockford Public Schools.

Union members have voted to authorize a strike as they bargain for a new contract with the district.

The Rockford Education Association must give the district a 10-day notice before any work stoppage begins.

Teachers, who are currently working without a contract, say they are holding out for better wages, staffing, and benefits.
