It's all part of Marvel's Voices: Comunidades, a special celebrating the legacy of Marvel's first Latin American superhero.

This milestone adds to Pelayo's already remarkable literary career.

She was the first Puerto Rican graduate of SAIC's Writing Program to win the Bram Stoker Award, horror's most prestigious literary honor. Esquire also named her book "Lotería" one of the "Best Horror Books of 2023," and her upcoming novel "The Forgotten Sisters" (2024) reimagines Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid."

Pelayo visited ABC7 Chicago to talk about this "marvelous" milestone in her already incredible career.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
