Police rescue cats abandoned in carboard box: 'It's more than just a litter'

Police in Indiana responded to a bizarre call on Wednesday morning.

A woman called South Bend police to report a box full of cats. The woman said she was on a walk with her dog when she made the discovery.

Police posted a video to social media showing the officers respond and react to the box.

"Oh wow! This is more than just a litter," one of the officers says.

He counted a total of 15 cats stacked inside a carboard box in the middle of a field.

South Bend Animal Resource Center responded and took the cats for evaluation.
