CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tracy Lee Wright, of Chicago, has been charged in connection with two Loop bank robberies that happened less than 10 minutes apart, officials said.
Wright, 38, was arrested Wednesday morning by the FBI after an individual identified Wright as the suspect who allegedly entered the Chase Bank branch at 10 South Dearborn on June 11 around 8:39 a.m., officials said. According to the complaint, the robber allegedly said he wanted to make a withdrawal and presented bank tellers with a note demanding $1,000, claiming that he was armed.
Approximately five minutes later, a robber entered the Citibank branch at 11 South LaSalle St., where a similar incident occurred - but this time, the robber allegedly threatened to kill the bank employee if they refused to comply, officials said.
Wright faces one felony count of bank robbery and is scheduled to appear in court June 23.
