
CHICAGO (WLS) -- "Windy City Weekend" kicked off the show with a look back at Ryan Chiaverini and Val Warner's "ins and outs" for 2025 and whether they held themselves to their desired changes. It was a mixed bag.

"Windy City Weekend" aired almost every Friday in 2025, and the show was a lot of fun for the hosts, guests, performers and in-studio audience.
Chiaverini's and Warner's favorite moments included interviews with comedian Mark Curry, rapper and actor Ice Cube and a workout with fitness guru Joey Thurman.

Film critic Richard Roeper revealed his favorite movies of 2025.
"Rental Family": Brendan Fraser stars as a lonely American actor living in Tokyo who is hired to play stand-in roles in strangers' lives.
"One Battle After Another": Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro star in this dystopian epic action thriller as ex-revolutionaries who band together to rescue the daughter of one of their own.
"Sinners": From "Black Panther" director Ryan Coogler, this supernatural horror film stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers, who in 1932 flee a criminal history in Chicago and return home to Mississippi, only to face an even greater, supernatural evil.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" kicks off at 7 p.m. nationally, and Chicago native Chance The Rapper will host the Midwest midnight countdown and perform in Chicago.
DJ Mike Dunn, DJ Mike P, J. Ivy and Shemekia Copeland will also perform on the main stage on the corner of West Wacker Drive and North Franklin Street in the Loop, starting at 9 p.m.

There will be a custom audio-visual presentation projected from ART on THE MART that begins at 7 p.m.
Chance the Rapper will take the stage for his countdown performance shortly before midnight and the Merchandise Mart with be the backdrop of the 2026 countdown, as fireworks launch from bridges along the Chicago Riverwalk.
