10-year-old boy dies after being hit by vehicle in Montgomery: officials

MONTGOMERY, Ill. (WLS) -- A 10-year-old boy has died after being hit by a vehicle in the west suburbs on Thursday night.

Montgomery police said the crash, which caused closures for several hours, happened on Route 30 between Orchard and Horseman.

The boy was crossing Route 30 when a vehicle hit him, police said.

He was identified as 10-year-old Vicente Pabon by the medical examiner.

Police said Pabon died at Loyola on Saturday.

The crash remains under investigation.

Officials did not immediately provide further information.
