Video shows sheriff's deputy save man's life after I-90 crash

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Cook County Sheriff's Office released new footage of a deputy saving a man's life on I-90.

WARNING: The content of this video could be disturbing for some. ABC7 is showing the video because the man is OK.

The crash on the southbound lanes of I-90 near 16th Street; the timestamp on the video shows it happened on Feb. 2.

Sergeant Kevin Johnson was driving when he noticed the overturned car and stopped to help.

Johnson then noticed the man lying on the ground with no pulse.

The video shows the sergeant begin performing CPR.

After a second round of chest compressions, the man began breathing again and regained a pulse.

The sergeant stayed by the man's side until paramedics arrived.

"We are grateful Sgt. Johnson was in the right place at the right time. His quick thinking and lifesaving actions exemplify what it truly means to protect and serve," a spokesperson said.
