CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC7 Chicago has obtained video of the moments after strong winds pushed a stroller carrying a baby into Lake Michigan last month.
The video is from a city of Chicago camera. It shows after a bystander jumped into the water to rescue the 8-month-old girl.
You can see a relieved nanny cradling the baby as they wait for first responders to arrive.
It happened Feb. 18 at Belmont Harbor.
The infant and good Samaritan, Lio Cundiff, are OK.
Cundiff spoke to ABC7 Chicago from his hospital bed following the harrowing rescue of the infant. Despite warmer air temperatures that week, Lake Michigan remains frigid.
"I'm just glad the stroller was up, not face down," Cundiff said. "The baby dipped under a couple times, but I was able to keep her up. And she was breathing and crying when we got her out."
