
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A suspect is in custody after a man was shot to death during an argument at a North Side home on Friday night, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call about a shooting in the West Lakeview neighborhood's 2000-block of North Leavitt Street just before 10:40 p.m.
A 53-year-old man was involved in a domestic altercation when it became physical, and a male suspect took out a gun and fired shots from inside the home, police said.
The Chicago Fire Department treated the victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, on the scene before taking him to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect remained on the scene, and officers took him into custody.
Charges are pending, and Area Three detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
