West Ridge hit-and-run leaves 2 injured, including 4-year-old boy: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man and a four-year-old boy were injured in a hit-and-run in the West Ridge neighborhood Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 9:40 p.m. in the 2700-block of West Peterson Avenue.

Police said the driver of a gray-colored vehicle struck a 24-year-old man and the 4-year-old boy who were crossing the street in the crosswalk.

The male driver of the vehicle got out and fled on foot, police said.

The man was transported to St. Francis Hospital and listed in fair condition while the 4-year-old boy was transported to Swedish Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

No one is in custody and Area Three detectives are investigating.
