Meet Trump penthouse owners

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Meet the man who will soon call the Trump Tower penthouse home. Sanjay Shah is a Chicago entrepreneur who's got the world at his feet. Or at least an amazing view of it.

Shah and his wife, Hemali, of South Barrington, Ill., just bought the penthouse at the Trump Tower. The 89th floor home comes with a 360-degree view of Chicago.

"The view of the Chicago River meeting the lake. We just basically want to wake up to the sunrise," Hemali said.

"We're standing in one spot and we can take all of this in," Shah said. "It's truly spectacular."

The 14,260-square foot is the city's most expensive residence in Chicago's history. Right now it's concrete and wallboard, but soon it'll be transformed into a luxurious 8-bath, 5-bedroom home. Shah plans to put another $15 or $16 million into it.

Why not? The residence was originally listed at $32 million. They got a deal.

"$17 million," he said. "Cash."

Shah, the founder and CEO of Vistex, a computer software company, calls his new home the "crown jewel of Chicago."

The Shahs are also philanthropic. They are involved in several charities in the area that focus on education, health and natural disaster relief.
