Woman, 65, killed in NW Side hit-and-run, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 65-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. in the 3100-block of North Central Avenue.

Police said the woman was walking in the crosswalk when a red pickup truck struck the woman and fled southbound on Central Avenue.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Video from the scene showed police investigating around a pickup matching the description of the vehicle in the hit-and-run.

No other injuries were reported and the CPD Major Accident Investigations Unit is investigating.
