Report of young girl found on West Side unfounded, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A report of a found child on the West Side was unfounded, Chicago police said Tuesday.

Chicago police initially said that girl is between 2 and 3 years old as found around 7 p.m. Monday in the 4300-block of West Van Buren Street.

Police initially said the girl was left by a woman.

Tuesday morning, police updated that the girl has been identified and the initial report that she was abandoned was unfounded. Police said it was a domestic situation and are looking into charges of filing a false report.
