CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning parents on Chicago's North Side about a "suspicious person" approaching children near playgrounds.

On April 19 around 1 p.m., police said he walked up to a group of kids and a parent near Ravenswood Elementary School in the 4300-block of North Paulina Street.

Police said he claimed to be a movie star. He told them he had children of his own and wanted to know the school's hours. The parent managed to get him to walk off the property.

On May 5 around 5 p.m., police said the same man walked up to children at McPherson Elementary School in the 4700-block of North Wolcott Avenue and started talking to them.

When an adult approached him, he said he was checking the equipment. Police said he left, but was seen walking in the area a short time later.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents should contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8200.
