Chef Rick Bayless: New Lena Brava restaurant to open soon

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Rick Bayless' newest restaurant project - Lena Brava in the West Loop - will open within two months, the Chicago chef said Friday in a Facebook post.

Lena Brava, located on Randolph Street, will be inspired by the food of Baja California in Mexico's western coast. "It's an incredibly exciting place right now, full of surprises and satisfactions at every turn," he said of the region.

He indicated that the menu will be filled with seafood and cooked in kitchen that is entirely wood-fired, adding that there is "not even a gas hook-up."

Bayless, who is known for adding a modern twist on Mexican cuisine, already owns a handful of restaurants in Chicago, including Topolobampo and Frontera Grill in the West Loop.
