CHICAGO (WLS) -- Summer movies have long been a mix of big-budget blockbusters, sequels, remakes and kid-friendly fare. And this summer is no different. Daily Herald Film Critic Dann Gire looks ahead to the season's hottest movies. Among them: the new "Ghostbusters" starring Plainfield's "Melissa McCarthy," Pixar's "Finding Dory," "Star Trek Beyond," "Independence Day: Resurgence" and "The BFG," Steven Spielberg's film adaptation of the Roald Dahl children's book.
