CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man who was being chased by police, jumped onto I-57 and was hit by a semi-truck on Chicago's South Side a week ago has died.
Authorities said Chicago police officers were chasing Parris Johnson, 26, wanted for retail theft about 8:30 a.m. August 25 when he jumped from the 119th Street overpass onto I-57.
He jumped onto the bed of a semi truck, rolled off and was partially run over by the truck, police said.
Johnson was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. He died a week later.
