The 2025 Columbus Day parade marched through downtown Chicago Monday.

The lawsuit alleges Mayor Lightfoot said: "You are out there measuring your (expletives) with the Italians seeing whose got the biggest (expletive). I've got the biggest (expletive) in Chicago."
"It's something all ethnic groups, all cultures, should be sharing in, as we believe Columbus opened the door to exploration in the new world, and, today, more than any other time, we need unity rather than divisiveness," said Ron Ornesti, president of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans.
The hourlong event was hosted by ABC7 Windy City Weekend anchors Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini.
