Waukegan police said an officer fatally shot a man who was armed with a knife and hammer and had a gasoline can strapped to his chest during a dispute with his neighbor Wednesday.
The sheriff's office said a group of neighbors pulled one victim out of a house before it was engulfed in flames.
"If the roles were reversed, I probably would be in jail or something to that magnitude," the NFL Hall of Famer told ABC News about the incident, where a woman accused him of speeding and harassment.
