SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Illinois Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth landed a big endorsement in her bid to un-seat Republican Senator Mark Kirk on Wednesday. Both President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden say they are proud to support her.
Obama first met Duckworth when he was a U.S Senator. In 2009, he made her Assistant Secretary at the Department of Veteran Affairs.
In a statement, the president calls Duckworth a "champion" for her fellow veterans.
