RALEIGH, N.C. -- A teen who was the alleged sex victim of a former Wake County teacher assistant told ABC11 Tuesday that she manipulated him.
"She would buy me clothes, give me cash, just all sorts of things," he said. "The next thing I know like one thing led to another. And I told her like, before everything started I'm like, 'You don't think I should wait until I'm 18?' And she was like, 'Naw that's alright. Don't nobody have to know about it.'"
The teen said he was too young to fully understand what was happening.
"I was 16 at the time. Who's not going to think that's cool? 'Oh, I'm sleeping with my teacher. I'm in high school.' Who's not going to think that's cool? But, like, really at the end of the day it's really not 'cause now that I think about it and I realize I see the light, she's really a sick individual," said the teen who ABC11 is not identifying due to the nature of the case.
Authorities have charged 25-year-old Victoria Ansleigh Kosciuszko of Cary with a sex offense with a student. She worked at Longview School on North King Charles Road in Raleigh. A spokesperson for Wake County Public Schools said Kosciuszko was hired in 2013 and resigned in January. The offense allegedly started in late 2013.
The teen told ABC11 that the relationship went on for almost two years - months after she resigned. Late this summer, he said Kosciuszko claimed he assaulted her and tried to have him charged. But after hearing his story, she was arrested.
"Me being the age I was, 16, I'm thinking it's cool but really, uh, I'm really getting manipulated. I was really getting manipulated the whole time," said the alleged victim who is now 18 years old.
He said Kosciuszko continued to communicate with him even at the height of the investigation.
"She contacted me a day before she got arrested," he said. "'Come see me. Let's have sex.'"
The teen said he's relieved Kosciuszko was arrested.
"I'm just glad she in jail so she can't have, she can't take advantage of anybody else," he said. "I'm just glad she's behind, behind them jail walls so she can't take advantage of another kid 'cause that's all I'm really worried about."
Kosciuszko remained in jail Tuesday.
