Taylor Townsend makes Chicago proud at French Open

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tennis phenom Taylor Townsend, 18, has made the Englewood neighborhood and the entire city of Chicago proud with her performance at the French Open thus far.

Townsend competes in the third round Friday morning. She is the youngest American woman to reach the third round in the French Open in more than 10 years.

Aaron Mabra, Director of Junior Development at XS Tennis in Kenwood, knows Townsend well. He is the assistant to her coach in Chicago.
