5th annual Ride For The Troops happening in Plainfield this weekend

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- A simple and fun way to help our military members and their families is happening this weekend in the southwest suburbs.

The 5th annual Ride for the Troops takes off Sunday at Webb Chevy in Plainfield.

Tim Gehr, the general manager of Webb Chevy joined ABC7 to talk about the event.

Organizers hope to raise more than $10,000 this year through rider registrations, car show entries, raffles and community donations.

100% of proceeds will be donated to United Service Organizations.
