Lupus Foundation of America hosting Walk to End Lupus Now in Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An annual walk is bringing hundreds of people together to raise awareness and support the fight against lupus.

Next weekend, the Walk to End Lupus Now will step off in Burnham Grove Park.

Lupus affects an estimated 1.5 million Americans, disproportionately impacting women and women of color. Yet it remains widely misunderstood.

Joan Pendleton and Magheen Joseph from the Lupus Foundation of America joined ABC7 to talk about the event.
