Fried chicken and Champagne event features top Chicago chefs

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Banchet Culinary Awards are still a few months away.

But there's a new, sizzling competition, leading up to the 25th anniversary ceremony this January.

The inaugural Cluck 'N Bubble kicks off on Sunday, August 23.

Nine Chicago restaurants will turn up the heat to see who can make the best fried chicken, paired with a glass of bubbly!

Proceeds will support future mentorship, education, and job-training opportunities for the next generation of culinary talent.
