CHICAGO (WLS) -- Michiel Huisman is a red hot actor from the Netherlands best known for roles in "Game of Thrones" and "Nashville."

He co-stars with Blake Lively in his new movie, "The Age of Adaline," which is about a woman who has a miraculous experience that stops her from aging.

"I play a man who meets Adaline by the time she is 107-years-old still in the body of Blake Lively, a 29-year-old, and kind of forces her to make a decision - is she gonna stay on the run like she's been her whole life hiding her big secret, or is a life without love not worth living," Huisman said.

"It kind of shows you how that fountain of youth can turn out to be such a burn, it places Adaline outside the cycle of life and makes for a very solitary life in a way," he said.

Harrison Ford plays the actor's father in the movie, and Huisman admits he was intimidated.

"After I got over the first 10 minutes of being a little star struck it was fun to feel that, in the end, we're all trying to do the same thing, we're trying to make a movie and tell a story," Huisman said.

The actor is an accomplished musician who's been playing guitar since he was kid. He was a natural for his role in ABC's "Nashville."

"I realized that acting is my calling probably and music is my passion," Huisman said.

And then there's his role on "Game of Thrones"!

"During my hiatus when I'm not working on the show and I'm doing movies I try to do the opposite of what I do on 'Game of thrones,' so my number one rule is no swords - that's what I try to do," he said.
