Super Bowl chili recipe
For inspiration on Super Bowl Sunday, Jennifer Gavin came into our studio to share fun and tasty ideas.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- On game day, it is a pretty safe bet to say that our waistlines likely won't deflate. After all, the big game means get-togethers, a lot of food and fun decorations.

For inspiration, Jennifer Gavin, executive chef at The Goddess & Grocer and Feast, came into our studio to share fun and tasty ideas.

Jennifer Gavin's recipe: Goddess chili

Serves 8-10 people

Ingredients:

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup diced onion

1 oz. minced garlic

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (red, green and yellow)

1 cup ground beef

1 cup kidney beans (cooked)

1/2 cup black beans (cooked)

1 cup diced tomatoes

2 bay leaves

1/4 cup diced jalapeno

1/2 cup tomato paste

2 oz. chili powder

2 oz. paprika

2 oz. salt

1 oz. black pepper

1/2 oz. cayenne pepper

2 cups beef stock

1/4 cup chopped parsley

2 oz. Mexican chocolate

Toppings:

2 cups shredded cheddar

2 cups sour cream

2 cups sliced scallions

Preparation:

1. Heat stockpot on stove top on high heat.

2. Add beef and cook until browned.

3. Remove beef, drain grease and set aside.

4. Add oil, onion, garlic, bell peppers, jalapeno and sautee until translucent.

5. Add beef and remaining ingredients. Lower heat and simmer for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

6. Remove from heat, serve in bowls and add desired toppings.
