ABC7 - Red Cross 100th Anniversary Blood Drive
CHICAGO (WLS) -- On Jan. 21, the American Red Cross will celebrate a century of serving the people of Chicago by hosting the 100th Anniversary Blood Drive from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Union Station. Those who come to donate will receive a commemorative Red Cross 100th Anniversary T-shirt and a free gift bag, while supplies last.
All eligible blood donors are invited to commemorate this special day with a lifesaving blood donation during a difficult time of year. Blood donations tend to decline during the winter months as inclement weather and seasonal illnesses can keep people from giving, creating a greater need for donations.
Rolling up a sleeve on Jan. 21 will help ensure cancer patients, trauma victims, surgery patients and others have the blood products they need this winter.
