American Airlines flight diverted due to turbulance
An American Airlines plane made an emergency landing in Canada after severe turbulence.

SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick (WLS) -- An American Airlines Jet made an emergency landing in Canada after severe turbulence. Seven passengers were hospitalized with injuries.

American Airlines flight 206 from Miami to Milan, Italy, landed at St. John International Airport in New Brunswick, Canada, Sunday night. Those on board said the jet began to rock side to side while in flight.

"I'm just happy to be alive, so... it was scary. I was praying the whole time, it was very scary," one passenger said.

There were 192 passengers and 11 crew members aboard the flight. Three flight attendants and four passengers were injured. Ambulances and paramedics were waiting on the tarmac with stretchers.
