Walgreens offers disposal of unused medication

Drugs can be disposed of at new kiosks at Walgreen pharmacies.

Walgreens stores now offers disposal kiosks for unused medication.

The pharmacy installed these kiosks inside 45 stores across Illinois so people can toss their old prescriptions.

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, said the kiosks will keep medications out of the hands of people who abuse them.

Once filled, a waste company will empty the kiosks and the medications will be destroyed.
