CHICAGO (WLS) --The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is just under one month away. It's a race that draws thousands of runners not only from Chicago, but from all 50 states and 100 countries.
Among them is an elite runner who's already a champion. Stephen Sambu has won the Shamrock Shuffle twice and has been dubbed the world's fastest 8K road runner. Now, he's making his marathon debut here in Chicago.
Sambu stopped by ABC7's State Street studios to discuss how he encourages young athletes to get excited about exercise, as well as training advice to help regular runners improve their time.
The Chicago Marathon will be held on Sunday, October 9.
