CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of Chicago White Sox fans packed the Hilton Hotel Friday afternoon to meet their favorite players and officials, interact with other fans and get their souvenirs autographed.

The start of SoxFest was most memorable for Olivia Pierce, who was promoted to honorary assistant to the general manager.

Olivia has been to 45 games this season and prides herself on knowing all things White Sox.

With her upbeat, bubbly personality, it's hard to believe the 10-year-old has lived through 35 surgeries and eight rounds of chemo.

"I have bilateral retinoblastoma it's just a fancy term for cancer in my eyes, I have one year of chemotherapy and 35 eye surgeries on my eye, we lost my eye to cancer, we have six tumors on this eye but we are down to two," she said.

Olivia said she stays so positive because her mom is always so positive.

This year, Olivia is going to try to attend 51 games. She also got a chance to meet all the players on the team.
