DEERFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- The Lake County sheriff's office is looking for three men who pulled guns on children, then forced their way into the victims' home.

Sheriff's deputies said two children were playing in the 1100 block of Inverrary Lane at 7:20 p.m. on September 17, 2015, when three men drove up in a vehicle.

Authorities said two men forced the children inside the home at gunpoint, where an adult was inside. The men then forced the adult and two children to the ground and held them at gunpoint.

Police released a photo from a home surveillance system of two of the men, who are still on the run.

"It's unknown who these individuals are, extensive follow-up is being conducted by investigators canvassing the area, checking video surveillance - in an attempt to identify these subjects," Det. Christopher Covelli, Lake County sheriff's office.

The suspects took approximately $500 in cash and $10,000 in jewelry before fleeing in a car, authorities said. The victims were not injured.

Neighbors said they were surprised such a violent home invasion happened in the quiet neighborhood.

"It never happens, it's just speeding tickets mostly," said Cecilia Filliman, a neighbor. "But other than that, there's no crime ever."

Anyone with information should call the Lake County sheriff's detectives at 847-377-4250 or Lake County Crime Stoppers at 847-662-2222.
