CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 76-year-old man was found shot to death in his Far South Side home. Chicago police are searching for his killer.

Claude Cannon was part of a very close-knit family, which had been part of the community for years.

Darryl Cannon said he found his brother shot several times near their back door Tuesday. The brothers shared a home in the 13000-block of South Riverdale Avenue in the city's Golden Gate neighborhood.

Cannon said he thinks his brother was killed Monday, while he was at work. He came home late that night and went straight to bed. He didn't find his brother until the next day.

"To come in and see your brother laying there with a hole in his head in the fetal position as if he was praying... I never seen anything like that before in my life," Cannon said.

Darryl Cannon is no stranger to difficult times. He was once a victim of detectives under the command of Jon Burge. Cannon was tortured to confess to a murder he didn't commit. He spent 24 years in prison before being exonerated in 2004.

While Cannon struggles to deal with his brother's murder, he says he still plans to live at the house.

Police do not have anyone in custody.
