A woman who worked with disabled children was beaten and set on fire on the South Side.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A vigil was held to remember a woman who was murdered on the city's South Side.

Family and friends honored Sherita Smith, 46, at a prayer vigil Wednesday night.

Her body was found burning in her SUV Friday morning in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Smith worked with children with disabilities at the Chicago Park District.

There is a $1,000 reward in the case.
