CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police and the Guardian Angels are putting CTA riders on alert after a 23-year-old woman reported she was sexually abused by a man on a Red Line train.

A man made inappropriate contact with the young woman on a crowded southbound CTA Red Line train around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday between the North/Clybourn and Chicago stops, police said.

Authorities released surveillance photos of the offender they are searching for. The images show a white male, about 5'10" to 6' tall, with blonde or light brown hair. He was wearing a red baseball cap and a black polo shirt.

The Guardian Angels handed out fliers at the Chicago stop in the city's Gold Coast neighborhood, where police said the suspect exited the train.
