CHICAGO (WLS) -- The University of Chicago is investigating after a student's Facebook page was hacked. School officials say the page was used to post a "hateful" message to community members.
The page belongs to one of several student activists who complained about some students wearing racist costumes on Halloween. They launched an online petition calling on the school to address what they call a "culture of racial intolerance."
The hacker used a racial epithet for African Americans in a post that criticized the activists' efforts.
U of C says federal law enforcement agencies are helping with the investigation.
