LISLE, Ill. (WLS) -- The West Suburban Humane Society wants all dogs and their people to join them for the 22nd annual Barkapalooza. The dog walk and expo takes place on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Lisle Community Park, located at 1825 Short Street in Lisle, Ill.

The dog-friendly event provides pets and their owners a day of family fun while helping support the West Suburban Humane Society's programs.

Barkapalooza visitors will enjoy a wide variety of pet vendors and rescue groups. There are even clowns and face-painting for children. The event happens rain or shine. Registration for the walkathon is $20, but children 12 and under get in free!

Carolyn Mossberger, executive director of the West Suburban Humane Society, visited ABC7 Eyewitness News before Barkapalooza to share how the money raised will help.
