Man steals puppy from Naperville store
A man is captured on surveillance video stealing a puppy from Petland in Naperville.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Naperville police say a man, who was caught in the act on surveillance video, stole a 12-week-old puppy from the Petland store.

Petland employees told police that on Friday around 6 p.m., a man, wearing a black t-shirt, athletic pants and sunglasses, came into the store with two women who were also wearing sunglasses. The man asked to see the puppy, a 12-week-old female brindled Boxer. Surveillance video shows the suspect with as he walks around the front of the store while holding the puppy, then purposefully exists the store with her still in his arms. Petland employees promptly notified the police.

The puppy, named Precious, has been implanted with a microchip which is registered the store, and a lost pet alert has been issued with petkey.org, alerting the community that she has been stolen. The alert is available online here.
