Cheer for athletes at the Department of Defense Warrior Games
CHICAGO (WLS) -- The competitions for the 2017 Department of Defense Warrior Games are underway in Chicago! From June 30 - July 8, more than 250 athletes representing the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command, and the U.K. Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force will compete in a series of events. The athletes are both active-duty and veterans who were seriously wounded and injured. Competitions include track races, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, archery and much more. You can cheer on the athletes for free at the events taking place across Chicago: including McCormick Place, the United Center and Soldier Field.
Along with the competitions, the opening ceremonies are sure to be a big hit. Hosted by comedian Jon Stewart at Soldier Field, the ceremonies also feature a concert by two Grammy-award winning artsists: Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Tickets for the opening ceremonies start at $40. There will be even more celebrity appearances at the celebrity exhibition game on Friday, June 7. Tickets to the celebrity exhibition game start at $10.

Tickets to the celebrity exhibition game start at $10 and will feature several Chicago PD and Chicago Fire actors, a WWE Superstar and several other athletes and celebrities.
